There was a scene in Platoon where a US soldier bashes a kid in the head an kills him. Horrible.

most disturbing movie scene you've seen?
by knock knock ini haven't seen this topic on here so i thought i'd.... hmmm, maybe it's because it's just too disturbing?
to me, the scene in saving private ryan - the two soldiers in the small upstairs room fighting hand to hand to the death (by stabbing).
i think that is the most disturbing thing i've seen on screen and there were plenty just in that film alone.

(Attn Girls) What color should I color my hair?
by reneeisorym ini'm really ready for a change.
my hair has been the same for two years now and i just want something different.
i would do it pink or whatever but i have an appointment with my hair cutter person (1 mile from my house) -- not my crazy color person (who is two hours away) .... this one has colored my hair twice and does a great job but she is just not one to do crazy off the wall things.

Looking at the picture, I'd say strawberry blonde. I think it would look good with your coloring especially if that's the way you usually do your make up. Secondly, if you don't like it, it would be easy to change.

Gotta love it! Always mentioning that they don't pass the collection plate. Why bother asking for pocket change, they'd rather have everything that you spent your entire lifetime acumulating - house, life insurance, jewlery, what else ya got!

How many times have you heard this...
by Amber Rose inalmost every non born-in jw that i know tells the same story of how they found "the truth".
and it goes like this: i didn't know anything about the bible before becoming a jw.
one day br.&sis.

Also, note the people that doesn't have previous solid knowledge of the Bible are an easy catch. But, if you know your Bible you can see the holes in their theories.
I know! Right away they admit they had no knowledge, yet they were going to teach someone else. Talk about walking into a battle unprepared!

Almost every non born-in JW that I know tells the same story of how they found "the Truth". And it goes like this: I didn't know anything about the Bible before becoming a JW. One day Br.&Sis. Pioneer Couple came to my door and I said to myself, I'll show them they're wrong. And I kept inviting them back because I was determined to prove them wrong, but I just couldn't! I couldn't believe that of all religions the JW were actually RIGHT! So I became one too.
Most of these stories were from the 1970's or early 1980's. Surely, there are many people who want to prove the JW's wrong but far fewer are being sucked in. Thank you Internet!

Why I'm thankful for the ministry...
by LayingLow ini was sitting here thinking about it, and i'm sure some would disagree, but....
1. the ministry exposed me to alternative interpretations to scriptures that i likely never could have gotten past.
first-born in col 1:15, meaning ruler or heir instead of first creation).

Me too! The only people who would talk to me in the ministry were the ones that were trying to prove me wrong. I wondered why god would be directing me to the homes of people who were trying to pull me out. Thanks all you guys!

Jehovah's Witnesses are not a cult and here's why I think so
by B_Deserter inwhen most people think of "cult" they think of the people's temple, the branch davidians, or heaven's gate.
many also want to put jehovah's witnesses, mormons, and scientologists into this group.
i don't agree with that because there is one main difference between true cults and high-control groups like jws:.

Cults (in the modern sense) not only isolate their followers mentally, but also physically. Cult members typically live in a communal setting. ... In addition to extreme social pressure to conform, menial day-to-day tasks are strictly monitored and rules are enforced.
Sounds like Bethel to me.

Shunning a Jehovah's Witness - They don't like it!
by jambon1 inan elder who lives nearby has decided to be play the twat with me recently.
i have been out for nearly 2 years, which makes it even more pathetic on his part.. after leaving, this character (thinking i was depressed), would give me the most tactless, thoughless advice that you have ever heard.
he loved 'giving it to me' right outside my house.

As the JW's in my neighborhood walk their dogs past my house I just love to give them a big grin and wave just as I did before I was DF'd. Oh, the confused and iritated looks on their faces!
